Standard Rates include:
• Unlimited kilometres for all vehicle types
• Standard Excess Insurance Cover
• Living equipment
• Full water tank and gas bottle(s)
• Nationwide road side assistance & phone help-line
• Fold Out Maps on applicable Southern Africa country visiting, with list of Caravan Parks in Southern Africa
• Cleaning fee
• 14% VAT (Value Added Tax) in South Africa and 15% in Namibia
• Free transfers between depot and Airport or City Hotel at pick up and drop off
Minimum Rental Duration and Costings
Minimum rental period: 5 days. Vehicle rentals are calculated on a per calendar day basis, i.e. day of pick-up or drop off is always counted as a full day irrespective of what time it is collected or dropped off. A contract fee of R100.00 is charged on all rentals. (Included in the All Inclusive rate)
Long-term Rental
Hires over 50 days 4% Discount on 35+ Day Rate.
Hires over 75 days 7% Discount on 35+ Day Rate.
Hires over 100 days 10% Discount on 35+ Day Rate.

One Way Rental Fee
For all one way hires within South Africa (JHB & CPT) a one way fee of R 3,500.00 is applicable. A one way fee of R 4,500.00 applies for all cross border one way hires (to Namibia - Windhoek and reverse). A one way fee of R 5,000.00 applies for cross border one way hires to Maun – Botswana and reverse.
Licence and Minimum Age
A valid national driver licence is required. Non-English language national driving licences must be presented in conjunction with an official translation or valid international drivers licence. The minimum age is 21 years. A Handling Fee of R250.00 shall be charged on all traffic fines.
Standard Excess Policy
All Camper Rentals South Africa vehicles come with comprehensive insurance cover. A standard excess of R45,000.00 applies in the event of any damage to either our vehicle or third party property. The renter will also be fully liable for replacing or repairing damaged windscreens and tyres. A security bond of R45,000.00 will be taken on vehicle collection. The security bond can be paid by traveller's cheque or credit card. Should the bond be paid by credit card the amount will be authorized with the bank, and will not be available until the return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date, with no damage incurred to the Camper Rentals South Africa vehicle or third party property and the toilet cassette has been emptied and no items are lost or damaged. PLEASE NOTE THAT SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT IS INCLUDED IN ALL INSURANCE OPTIONS, APPLICABLE EXCESS SHALL APPLY
Clutch replacement or damage due to client negligence is not covered with any of the insurance options. A handling fee of R500.00 is charged on all accident damages irrespective of the insurance option taken.
Camper Rentals South Africa offer the following two (2) options to reduce or waive the Standard Excess:
Excess Reduction 1
Excess Reduction 1 at R 150.00 per day will reduce the excess for any damage to either vehicle or third party property to a maximum of R 20,000.00. The renter, however, will be fully liable for replacing or repairing damaged windscreens, radio theft, Recovery costs, Replacement costs, clutch damage and tyres. The bond of R 20,000.00 can be paid by traveller's cheque or credit card. Should the bond be paid by credit card the amount will be authorized with the bank, and will not be available until the return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date, with no damage incurred to the Camper Rentals South Africa vehicle or third party property and the toilet cassette has been emptied and no items are lost or damaged.
In case of any damage to the Camper Rentals South Africa vehicle or third party property a second bond will be collected to cover the excess for any subsequent damage.
Excess Reduction 2
Excess Reduction 2 at R 300.00 per day will waive the excess for any vehicle and third party property damage and the cost of replacing or repairing of windscreens, tyre damage, radio theft and recovery costs. A security deposit of R 1250.00 is payable at the time of pickup to ensure that the vehicle is returned to the agreed location, on the agreed date in clean condition and with the toilet cassette and waste water tank has been emptied and no items are lost or damaged.
Camper Rentals South Africa cannot be held liable for loss or damage to items of a personal nature (Camera’s, phones, clothes etc). Personal effects are not covered by any Insurance option offered above. Camper Rentals SA advises that adequate travel insurance be taken in order to cover damage or loss to these items.
IMPORTANT:
The renter is fully liable for any damage to the Camper Rentals SA vehicle or third party property if:
• The terms of the rental contract are breached.
• Damages sustained whilst the renter/driver is in breach of any traffic laws or ordinances.
• Damage to the vehicle which is caused by careless, wilful or reckless driving.
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Driving on restricted roads.
• Water submersion or salt water damage caused through own fault.
• The vehicle is driven outside the specified countries without permission.
• Damage / Abuse to the clutch

Accidents
By law all accidents must be reported to Camper Rentals SA and the Local Police within 24hrs. Failing to report accidents voids all insurance cover and the Hirer becomes fully liable for all costs.
• If the rental vehicle is involved in an accident and is not driveable, a replacement vehicle, may be collected from the closest branch.
• If the hirer requires a replacement vehicle to be delivered, then these charges will be for the hirers account.
• The hirer is responsible for the recovery of the damaged vehicle to the original rental branch.
• If the hirer is unable to take a replacement vehicle, no refunds for early termination of the contract will be considered.
• No refund of rental days lost will be considered during the period in which a replacement vehicle is being replaced.
• Should the hirer continue with a replacement vehicle then a new rental contract and insurance conditions will apply.
Camper Rentals SA reserves the right to apply the above conditions as they deem fit.
Road Restrictions
Campers/Motorhomes can only be driven on sealed/bitumen/gravel roads. 4WD Campers are allowed to be driven on public bitumen / tar roads as well as on public recognized 4x4 tracks in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Special permission is required from Camper Rentals SA for full off road use and for use in other countries. No Entry allowed into Malawi and Tanzania. A cross border fee of R500.00 applies for cross border documentation into Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Lesotho and Swaziland and R1000 for Mocambique.
Repairs
Repairs of up to R 1,000.00 may be effected without authorisation and will be reimbursed. Amounts above R 1,000.00 require approval from Camper Rentals SA on-road assistance.
Please note should there be any problems with the vehicle whilst in your care, please advise Camper Rentals SA immediately, we will not be held liable or compensate for any time lost if the problem is only reported to us on drop off.
Infringements
The hirer is liable for all fines and penalties in relation to the driver's use of the vehicle or the vehicle itself incurred during the rental period plus an administration fee of ZAR/N$250 for each infringement or penalty notice that has been redirected by Camper Rentals SA to the hirer.
Vehicle Return
All vehicles must be returned with a full fuel tank. Refuelling at our depot will be charged at ZAR/N$ 1.50 per litre above the current price of fuel.
Cancellation Fees
Fees in Percentage of Gross Rates if:
25 days before pick-up = No fee
24 days to 6 days before pick-up = 15%
5 days to 0 days and no show = 50%
If vehicle is returned early = No Refund available
Multiple Rentals - Minimum of 5 days per Country
Multiple rentals can be combined to qualify for a longer term rental rate. South African, Australian and New Zealand rentals can be combined to qualify if travel is within a 12 month period.

Change of Vehicle
If, for reasons beyond our control, the reserved vehicle is not available, we reserve the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle at no extra cost to the client. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the renter to any form of refund.
Taxes
All charges include 14% VAT in South Africa and 15% in Namibia. All rates and conditions are subject to change in accordance with changes in government taxes.
General
Any claims or legal action in connection with the provision of our services to the client will be governed by the laws of South Africa/Namibia. Any claim or legal action against the suppliers is likely to be subject to the terms and conditions of our contract with them.
Please Note:
Rates and conditions may be subject to change. Whilst including the same facilities, some campers may have different layouts to those shown. All measurements and volumes shown are approximate. The information provided is subject to change without notice.
The following points are brought to your attention:
When bringing your vehicle back please set aside 1 hour in order for us to check equipment/vehicle and if applicable charge accordingly.
Please note vehicle should be brought back clean, if dirty a cleaning fee of R500.00 shall be charged. This enables us to see if there are any damages.
Our Insurance does not cover damage and/or loss sustained:
*As result of lessee or driver negligence
*Where the vehicle was driven in a place not allowed to be driven:
*Where the vehicle is taken in an unstipulated and unauthorized country
*When the accident is not reported within 24hrs
*With an unstipulated drivers under 21 years of age
*Due to civil unrest, riots, war or political unrest
*Should a replacement vehicle be needed due to a fault on Camper Rentals SA side we will replace the vehicle within 24hrs in South Africa and 48 hrs outside of South Africa. This does not entitle the lessee to any compensation within those hours.
*An allowance of R500.00 per night per vehicle for accommodation in South Africa is allowed up to a maximum 1 night, and for over the border maximum 2 nights.
Please note we need invoices in order for us to refund you back for any accommodation used.
*Should a replacement vehicle be needed due to the lessee’s fault, a fee of R5000.00 will be charged
for replacements (excluding repairs/damages) within South Africa and R10 000.00 for outside of South
Africa. No accommodation allowance or lost days will be refunded.

Tyres
Our Insurance (CER 2) does not cover, damage and/or loss sustained to tyres:
*As a result of lessee or driver negligence
*Where the vehicle was driven in a place not allowed to be driven
*Where the vehicle is taken in an unstipulated and unauthorized country
*Punctures are not covered, these are for lessees account
Clutch
*On handover, the vehicle goes through a mechanical check, which includes a full inspection of the clutch.
*Whilst driving, should you detect the clutch plate is slipping, stop driving and report it to Camper Rentals SA, to avoid
replacing vehicle or parts further than your current location
*All clutches burnt out after three days rental, will be strictly for your account.
-Clutch Replacement Fee for part R3 500.00 (4x4 Petrol Clutch)
R4 000.00 (4x4 Diesel Clutch)
R15 000.00 (Motor home Clutch)
This does not include replacement, recovery and /or towing costs, which shall be calculated on location of breakdown as per the Automobile Association rates.
PLEASE NOTE SHOULD THERE BE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE WHILST IN YOUR CARE, PLEASE ADVISE CAMPER RENTALS SOUTH AFRICA IMMEDIATELY, WE WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE OR COMPENSATE FOR ANY TIME LOST IF THE PROBLEM IS ONLY REPORTED TO US ON DROP OFF.
Please be advised that upon drop off of the vehicle, if any of the above has been noted, insurance will become null and void. Any damages shall be payable at time of drop off by Lessee by credit card.
